About This Website
This website is operated by The Bank Wine & Cocktail Bar (“The Bank”, “we”, “us”), located at 516 Durham Road, Low Fell, Gateshead, NE9 6HU. By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. The current version will always be available on this page. Continued use of the website following any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
Use of This Website
You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not use this site in any way that could damage, disable or impair it, or interfere with anyone else’s use of it. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or any system or network connected to it.
The content on this website - including text, images, logos and design - is the property of The Bank and may not be reproduced, distributed or used without our written permission.
While we take care to ensure the information on this website is accurate and up to date, we cannot guarantee that all content is free from errors. Menus, prices, opening hours and events are subject to change without notice. Please contact us directly if you need to confirm specific details before visiting.
Table Bookings
Table reservations are made through our third-party booking provider, Dojo. When you make a booking you are entering into an agreement directly with The Bank, subject to these terms. The Dojo platform is a tool provided for convenience; any issues with the booking platform itself should be directed to Dojo.
We ask that you notify us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or amend a booking. You can reach us by calling 0191 487 9038 or emailing info@thebanklowfell.co.uk. Repeated no-shows or late cancellations may result in a deposit being required for future bookings.
We will always do our best to accommodate your booking, but we cannot guarantee specific tables or positions within the venue. Requests for the Secret Garden terrace are subject to availability and weather conditions.
Food Allergens & Dietary Requirements
Our menu contains dishes that include or may have been in contact with allergens including gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, soya, shellfish, fish, celery, mustard, sesame, lupin and sulphites. Detailed allergen information is available on request from our staff.
It is your responsibility to inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements before ordering. While we take all reasonable care, we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment and we are unable to accept liability for adverse reactions where adequate notice has not been given.
If you have a serious allergy, please speak to a member of staff before ordering. We will always advise honestly whether we are able to safely accommodate your needs.
Age Verification - Challenge 25
We operate a strict Challenge 25 policy. Any person who appears to be under 25 years of age will be asked to provide valid photographic proof of age before being served alcohol. Acceptable forms of ID include a valid passport, a UK driving licence or a PASS-accredited proof of age card.
We will refuse service of alcohol to anyone who is under 18 years of age, or who is unable to provide satisfactory proof of age when asked. This applies to all customers and to all purchases of alcohol on the premises.
It is a criminal offence to purchase or attempt to purchase alcohol on behalf of a person under 18. We reserve the right to refuse service to any person at our discretion.
Private Hire & Events
Private hire of The Bank or its facilities (including the Secret Garden terrace) is subject to a separate hire agreement, which will be provided to you upon enquiry. These terms and conditions apply in addition to any specific hire agreement unless they are expressly overridden by the terms of that agreement.
We reserve the right to terminate a private hire event early if, in the reasonable opinion of our management, the behaviour of guests poses a risk to the safety or welfare of staff, other guests or the premises. In such circumstances no refund will be due.
Decorations, entertainment and external catering must be agreed with us in advance. The hirer is responsible for any damage caused to the premises or equipment during the hire period.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Bank shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of this website or our services, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue or any business interruption.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We are not responsible for the content of any external websites linked to from this site.
Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
